On Saturday, June 19th, Division 8 held its second virtual Officer Training Conference. As it was held via Zoom and not in a library or school, it was open to all members; of course, officers were still expected to attend to receive formal training. Aside from officer training, several workshops such as member recognition and engagement were presented to everyone that attended. A good chunk of the AC officer board presented, as 4/6 of us are part of the DLT. I presented the Editors workshop due to my position on the DLT, as well as in my home club. It was a bit of a struggle to figure out small technical issues like playing music during a break while trying to avoid Spotify ads, but somehow I was successful despite the fact that I was going solo in that breakout room. Editors workshop aside, it was an informational event with fun sprinkled through parts of it, like Quiplash… with mentions of the BTS Meal and Division 8 becoming world domination + poggers. Overall, I had a great time at my first OTC, and I’m sure some of my friends that attended did, too.
