SAFEKEY
You may have heard the term "safekey" get thrown around in club meetings and Division events, but what exactly does that mean? Here is a comprehensive guide on how to navigate this concept.
Safekey = Internet Safety
Safekey was created by the 2013-14 CNH Communications and Marketing Committee. They wanted to give the members of CNH a chance to understand the effects of technology, how to prevent danger online, and how the internet can cement members' statuses as role models.
Safekey is heavily enforced when it comes to digital communications such as social media, websites, Discord servers, etc.
What is cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is hurting another person emotionally (with the possibility of physical harm in some cases) through digital means. It can either be attributed to you through a username or be completely anonymous.
Consequences of cyberbullying include being removed from an officer position, getting fired from a job, loss of trust from your friends and family, etc.
How can I stay Safekey?
The content you post online SHOULD be appropriate! Ignore comments made to harass you or others; talk to a trusted adult if you are faced with such an incident. Refrain from using profanity as much as possible.
Never disclose any personal information, such as your phone number and address, in a public network. If private information gets leaked, report it immediately to a trusted authority.
