Benicia Key Club also has members from other organizations that continue their duty in service to others. Two members from Benicia Key Club participated in an event led by our Tech Editor, who is also a Boy Scout, in putting together community care kits for St. Vincent De Paul. This event was on August 7th, 2021, and was held at the Benicia City Park from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The event started with a traditional prayer, then volunteers jammed out to music while putting together these kits that are composed of essentials, mainly hygiene products, for people in need. Altogether, volunteers had put together 62 community care kits by the end of the day but due to a shortage of supplies, materials still needed to be added to these kits such as gift cards, sunscreen, socks, and notes of encouragement. Afterward, volunteers did a cleanup sweep across the park and then ended the day with some Pacifica Pizza.
